A passing grade in this course depends on three components:
-
Participation.
You must attend a minimum of 13 of the 15 class meetings
and participate
in the discussions of the films we view.
-
Written Crititques.
You are to write a 2-3 page critique
for eight of the nine films shown on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday
(this gives you one sick day).
See the critique guidelines
for more information.
-
Final Essay.
You are to write a 4-5 page final essay
comparing and contrasting the different views of technology
as expressed in the films we've watched.
You are encouraged to create a taxonomy representing
all possible views,
and place the films we've watched within your taxonomy.
An incomplete grade (I) will be granted only in unusual circumstances,
and only if those circumstances have been confirmed by the Student Life office.
Procrastination does not qualify as an unusual circumstance.
All submitted work must be your own original work,
though you are free to discuss its content with your classmates.
