Orange River
Base camp is on the South African bank of the Orange River. The other shore is Namibia, and we learned that the official border between the two countries is the high water mark on the Namibian side.
Because it was sooo hot, we jumped in the water shortly after arrival. We learned quickly (and the hard way) that the rocks in the Orange River are very slippery. James almost smashed the back of his head after one less-than-graceful entrance.
