This outdated road sign is between Pofadder and Onseepkans (the boarder crossing). The "road" was washboard-rough, but it carried us 50 km to base camp. I got the sense that we were journeying somewhere I would NEVER go otherwise.

Although you can't see the water, the canyon for the Orange River is visible just above the foreground hill.

The sign is outdated, because Suidwes-Afrika (Southwest Africa) has been known as Namibia since 1990.
