COPE
The Congress of the People (COPE) broke away from the ANC in 2008 in protest over the ANC's handling of the Jacob Zuma controversy at ANC's national conference in December 2007 in Polokwane. Most observers thought that the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) would break away from the ANC alliance at some point, but COPE beat them to it. Polls say that COPE is set to get between 5% and 10% of the national vote.
COPE's presidential candidate is Mvume Dandala.
