In the Cellar
Our meeting was held in the cellar, and you can see the barrels on the sides of the room. The large table and surrounding chairs were made by a carpenter who is employed full-time by the estate. Discarded oak barrels are the raw materials used by the craftsman.
Throughout the meeting, I wondered what might happen if one of the huge barrels developed a leak. How deep would the wine be? How would the meeting attendees react? Later, during our tour, we learned that all these barrels are empty now.
One photographic note, the light in the cellar was awful for two reasons. First, it was very low. I shot with my f/1.8 lens for the entire day, and I had to amp the ISO to 1600. Second, the light was very yellow. I'm not sure what kind of bulbs were in use, but they were awful. This image was shot in .jpg mode, but I quickly switched to RAW to provide more flexibility in post processing.
