This is a Vestas V66 turbine, a 1.75 MW machine. The "66" is for the rotor diameter, 66 m, and the blades are 32 m long. The hub should be 80 m from the ground, but this one was installed at 60 m. The reason? There were no cranes large enough in South Africa at installation time (2002).
