Uh, Oh!
Catherine was cleaning up a puzzle in the living room when she said, "This is all wet." No drinks around. Look up. Oh, no—a leak in the ceiling. So, outside in the pouring rain to get the ladder. Up into the attic. Crawl to the opposite end of the house on the rafters where I found a small roof leak. There was a damp spot on the attic side of the living room ceiling that was about 15 cm diameter. However, there was a much larger stain (maybe 50 cm diameter) where there had been a leak before. So, this isn't the first time the roof has leaked at that spot. For now, I put a bucket in the ceiling to limit any long-term damage.
The purple sticky on the ceiling in the photo below shows the location of the leak in the living room.
Later in the evening, we heard more drops. On, no, again! So, back up in the attic. I saw new leaks near the point where the solar water heater pipes exit the roof (over the guest bedroom and over Catherine's bedroom) and above the study. The leaks above the study are near the chimney and at the point where the North and West roofs meet. More buckets are now in the roof. I'll check the situation again tomorrow.
