Tracy suggested that I entitle this post "Only in South Africa," because so many of today's events could happen only in South Africa.
First, Tracy bought a rawhide chew-toy for Tosca that looks like a koeksister.
Second, Tracy bought some lilies at the roadside today that are uniquely South African.
Third, Mark's school play was a uniquely South African take on the Cinderella story.
Many pictures below.
In other news, I took our weed whipper back to Eikestad Tuinsentrum (Stellenbosch Garden Centre) today. They said that the electric motor is burning out. But, luckily, they had an identical whipper in the shop. They had refurbished it for a customer 6 months ago, but he never reclaimed it. So, they sold it to me for R200. A pretty good deal. So, now we have two weed whippers at home.
I had another meeting on my economics project. I'm pretty excited (at this stage) about the prospects for a nice paper coming out of it.
I did a quick resume update this evening. I was surprised to see that I have authored, co-authored, or been the presenter on 11 items (papers, conference presentations, or invited presentations) in 2009. And, there are possibly two more in the pipeline. It has been a very interesting year.
Tracy wrote another couple pages on her paper today.
Mark had school and Catherine had daycare.
