Moonset
After the overnight rains, we saw a beautiful sunrise and moonset over the river.
We learned that a previous group ended their trip one day early due to sickness and intense heat. They were led by guides from another company, but their takeout point was at our base camp. It was a little disconcerting to see them drive away, disheartened by their failure to make it to the end. It makes one wonder just what this is all about. Could we expect the same fate?
