The Route Up
I'm always keen for a hike, and each campsite had one (or two) opportunities. At Scorpion, I convinced only Duncan to come with me. More people joined on later days. In the late afternoon, we walked up the koppie behind the Scorpion campsite. We were told to bring water, and good thing, too. I drained 2.5 gallons of water on the 45 minute hike to the top. Our route up was along a seasonal riverbed, visible in this photo as lighter rock.
