Roadmaps
My Conventional Energy Systems class developed 1-page roadmaps for South Africa's energy future. I selected the responsive submissions and sent them to a designer who had them screen printed as a single larger piece. I added the centre panel containing our class photo, the one-sentence assignment, and the logos of the University of Stellenbosch, the CRSES, and the Sustainability Institute.
This "techie" art is one of many new silk-screened pieces on display at the Sustainability Institute. A striking aspect of this piece is that all students were given the same assignment, so you can really see their individuality show through their efforts. To me, it is a reminder that we need all points of view and a big mix of ideas to solve energy and sustainability problems in the future. So, great job students! And, thank you for the great times this year!
