View South
This is the view south toward False Bay with the Cape Flats in the foreground. The Cape Flats are where Cape Town has spread out over the years from the original beginning of the city on the north side of Table Mountain. Communities found on the flats range from very affluent to very poor (squatter camps called "informal settlements"). Some of these communities are organized with electricity and other utilities, and some are not.
