What I love about this photo: 

* Colors: The book and Mark's lips have similar colors. The predominant white provides a high-key style of image.

* Interesting pose: Mark is really relaxed, and his right arm frames his face nicely.

* Light: There was a light above Mark's head which added to the room light to provide interesting lighting on the scene.

* Composition: I like the diagonal aspect to the image. The eye is drawn from the book to Mark's face to his right hand. The headboard of the bed provides additional diagonals in a different direction.
